Hailing from Stoke-on-Trent, UK, Danny Higgins is a busy session bassist & sideman. Cutting his teeth in the grassroots UK rock scene – before making the move to his current path of sideman, functions musician & content creator.

Danny’s musical journey started back in 2004, when he first started playing bass, quickly evolving into a strong passion, & an early introduction to Bartolini pickups, after playing a friend’s Tobias bass. He went into musical education, gaining his grades & becoming a qualified Rock School instructor, although playing is his passion, as opposed to teaching.

On his quest to become a more rounded musician, he began to sing in bands too, adding backing vocals to support & elevate the band, alongside his bass playing. In addition to bass guitar, Danny also plays synth & upright bass. Whilst he normally composes as part of a collective, Danny has also been known to write & record his own music, although this is yet to be released in any format.

In more recent years, Danny has taken the time to extend his knowledge into studio work, gaining a degree in music production, & becoming a qualified ProTools engineer, this has allowed him to collaborate remotely with artists & musicians on a global basis.

He has been scouted for a new wedding band, with a top agent, & for multiple new tribute acts, on the back of multiple international tours in France, Switzerland, Cyprus & his cruise work, alongside his ongoing work with Alanis Moreorless, Scratch & Darla Jade.

Danny has a reputation as a tone connoisseur, using Lakland & MTD basses, loaded with Bartolini pickups & electronics, having loved Bartolini’s equipment for years.

Danny’s Bartolini pickups of choice are the P25Cs in his MTD bass, & the MK5Ps in his Lakland, also being fond of the 59CBJS in a Jazz styled bass. He is also looking forward to trying the PB5 B-Axis pickup in a Precision style instrument.
